Jacqueline Simcox Ltd

A selection of rare Chinese antique silk textiles and costumes for the court, aristocracy, Buddhist and Daoist use, ranging in date from 13th -19th centuries; employing the techniques of tapestry, embroidery and brocade to present dragons and other mythical animals, floral and geometric subjects.

Jacqueline Simcox is one of the leading specialists in antique Chinese costumes and textiles. She deals privately in London and has exhibited at the major art fairs around the world, including TEFAF, the Haughton International Asian Art Fair, New York; The International Asian Art Fair, Hong Kong; Masterpiece, London and various others.

She regularly lectures on Chinese textiles for the Post-Graduate Chinese course at SOAS, University of London and for the V&A on their specialist courses on Chinese Art and World Textiles. She has written many articles on the subject and, with John E. Vollmer, a book on the Chinese textiles in The Mactaggart Collection in Edmonton’s University Museum, Canada.
