Take a guided excursion to the world’s largest hydropower station – Three Gorges Dam, including visits to Tanziling Ridge, and 185 Platform. This excursion is available in both 3 nights and 4 nights Yangtze River cruises.

The Dam is about 7,660 feet (2,335 meters) in length, and about 607 feet (185 meters) in height. The width on the top is about 59 feet (18 meters), while 427 feet (130 meters) at the bottom. The investment for the project is about 25 billion US dollars. The construction of this massive dam was for the purpose of flood control, electricity, navigation, and irrigation.

At the top of Tanziling Ridge, travelers could have a panoramic view of the Dam, ship locks, ship lift and Yangtze River. The 185 Platform, which is 185 meters above the sea level, is the nearest place that travelers could go to enjoy the view of the main structure of the Dam.
