Valentine’s Day just got sweeter for Alodia Gosiengfiao. The cosplayer, gamer, and January 2023 cover girl just married her beau Chris Quimbo in an ornate ceremony held at the Manila Marriott Hotel. Decorated by Gideon Hermosa, the venue was a spectacle to say the least, and it was everything you'd expect from the country's Cosplay Queen. The blushing bride made a jaw-dropping entrance as she sashayed down an LED aisle dressed in an ethereal gown by beauty queen-favorite Mak Tumang.
But did you know that this ornate dress was actually rushed to get done? You wouldn't think it with all the elaborate details but both bride and designer revealed that they were actually pressed for time since Mak usually recommends a minimum of at least six months to complete a gown. No one does fantasy couture better than Mak Tumang. Always skimming the line between fashion and fanciful, his designs are always elaborate and show-stopping without ever feeling costumey. It's no wonder that Alodia would gravitate towards him in collaborating on the most important dress of her life. She tells Preview that as much as she wanted it to be different and something never seen before, she also wanted it to be more traditional to appease her parents and guests.
The result is this stunning, dragon-inspired gown that can actually be worn three-ways for maximum impact! When not splayed out in its full glory, the train can actually be cinched to the waist for a volumous overskirt, or on the shoulders as a princess-like cape. Genius!
Alodia matched her gorgeous gown with an equally impressive pair of bespoke shoes from Shoepatos by Doreen Odvina. The crystallized mesh boots complemented not only the frock, but also her personality.
Awaiting her on the other end the aisle was Chris who looked ever so dashing in a classic white tux by Francis Libiran. Inspired by James Bond, Francis spared no detail in making sure that the groom looked and felt good in his wedding day apparel. Even the lining had paisley details! What's more, they even prepared a similar suit for Chris' dog Patek. So cute!
