Pussy Riot Bring Their ‘Riot Days’ on the Road
Pussy Riot is plotting their return with a U.S. tour. On Tuesday, the Russian feminist protest group announced their “Riot Days” tour.
The Riot Days collective — currently comprising Maria “Masha” Alyokhina, Diana Burkot, Olga Broisova, and Alina Petrova — will start their tour in Montreal on Nov. 1, before making their way to cities such as Seattle, San Jose, Los Angeles, and Dallas, before wrapping their tour in Brooklyn, New York on Dec. 8.
The performance tour will be a combination of live music, theater, and video based on Alyokhina’s book, Riot Days, which chronicles her experience in the group, including their massive protests and days locked in prison. The performance art delves into current events, including Russia’s invasion on Ukraine.
Artists Liza Anne, Sloppy Jane, Death Valley Girls, Phinkshift, and Thick will join the group on different stops of the U.S. tour.
Pussy Riot last joined Marina as an opener on her Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land tour last year.
